Abstract

A novel whitin a novel, El curioso impertinente reveals Cervantes as amaster of thecnicalities in the making of a novel. The author of this article, taking into account Cervante’s poetics of fiction, ponders about the reasons Cervantes might have had to include this novel into his greater masterwork. Analyzes, also, the consequences of this insertion.
