The chasuble of the apostles: a chasuble of imagery in the Cathedral of Lima
Abstract
The collection of liturgical vestments of the Basilica Chatedral of Lima has great value, despite the fragility of the materials and its continued use. These ornaments have persisted through the centuries and are dis- tinguished by their technical singularity, aesthetic and luxury qualities, expressed both in the materials selection and the wealth of iconographic themes; at the same time reflecting Christian practices developed during the viceroyal period and the early republican life. However their importance, these garments have not yet attracted the interest of researcher.Downloads
