Alfredo Bryce Echenique's word
Abstract
Since the publication of his first novel, Un mundo para Julius (1970), Al-fredo Bryce Echenique can be considered an oustanding chronicler of Peru’s ruling class, exposing its many social and moral contradictions. While the author will return to this topic time and again, in other works, such as Tantas veces Pedro (1977) and La vida exagerada de Martín Romaña (1981), Bryce is also a keen explorar of Peruvian identity through the experience of exile. Orality and humor are at the core of his unique style of writing to showcase the trials and tribulations of his many anti-heros.Downloads
