Abstract
During the eighteenth century, a remarkable historical chronicle known among us with the name of ANALES DEL CUZ CO was written in Cusco, whose manuscript, copied more than once, has been attributed to the pen of the illustrated canon of the Cuzco Cathedral, Dr. Don Diego. de Esquivel y Navia, who lived until 1779. That this is the name of the author of the old Annals has not been proven. The truth is that the work gathers exceptional interest, hence we have proposed to study the problems relating to the author and the curious history of his old manuscript. Such is the object of this article. We do not, of course, presume to have exhausted the subject. On the contrary, we declare from now on that it has not been possible to finish our investigation, since what we investigated is stuck at an insurmountable point. However, without further hesitation, we want to offer it now to the curiosity of the readers of this important Magazine, sure as we are of the interest of such a valuable subject.Downloads
